The name From the Hollow Fine Art was inspired by my youngest son, Logan. His name comes from the Gaelic word lagan, meaning "a little hollow" or "small meadow."

Flowers are happiness to my soul. My mother loved flowers, and some of my most treasured memories are of helping her create beautiful container gardens around the yard — bursts of color and life that brightened every corner.

Growing up in New England, the Spring season was over in a flash and the Summers were so wonderful after a long cold winter. My mother loved to plant her annual flowers for the summer and my sisters and I were always there to help. Her love for flowers and birds was gifted to myself and my sisters.  Moving to South Carolina in 2020, I have had to learn how to garden for the long hot summers here and I now have a longer growing season to appreciate my blooms. I love having the ability to paint flowers so they can be admired throughout the many seasons of our lives. Adding feminine figures with them reflects how they can make us feel.

Today, I carry that joy into my studio. Painting florals is my way of honoring those moments — creating arrangements on canvas that will never fade, never wilt, and can be treasured for a lifetime. Each piece is born from a deep love of beauty in bloom.

That is the feeling I hope to capture in every painting — a sense of quiet joy, timeless color, and the enduring warmth of flowers and landscapes that feel like home.
